Greetings as we enter the wonderful month of October. With the fall season in full swing and cooler weather settling in, it's the perfect time to embrace the charm of our city and participate in the exciting events we have planned., so let's dive right in.
As the leaves change colors and the temperatures drop, Garfield becomes even more enchanting. This season offers a chance to enjoy cozy sweaters, warm drinks, and the crisp air that reminds us of the beauty of our city.
- Restaurant Week (October 1st - 7th): Prepare your taste buds for an unforgettable experience during Restaurant Week. Garfield's finest dining establishments will be showcasing their culinary talents from October 1st to 7th. It's a perfect opportunity to savor delicious dishes and support our local restaurants.
- City-Wide Garage Sale (October 7th - 8th): Clean out your closets and attics because the City-Wide Garage Sale is back on October 7th and 8th. Whether you're a bargain hunter or looking to declutter your home, this event has something for everyone.
Join us on the following dates for some family-friendly fun
- October 13th: The Great Pumpkin Patch will be open, allowing families to pick the perfect pumpkin for carving or decorating.
- October 21st: The library is hosting a Trunk or Treat event, combining books and candy for a delightful evening.
- October 24th: It's the date for our annual Fall Decorating Contest. Showcase your fall-themed decorations and compete for the title of Garfield's most festive home. To register your house, please call the YMCA or the Recreation Center.
- October 25th: Join the YMCA for a unique twist on bobbing for apples—bobbing for pumpkins! It promises to be a splashing good time.
- October 27th: Don't miss the Trunk or Treat event hosted by the Garfield PD and Recreation Department. Our local heroes are excited to share treats and smiles with the community.
- October 28th: Prepare for thrills and chills at the Boys and Girls Club Haunted House. Get ready for a spooky adventure! .
- October 29th: The Rotary Club is serving up a Halloween pancake breakfast. Start your day off with delicious food and great company.
We encourage all residents to participate in these events and create lasting memories with friends and neighbors. Garfield's strength lies in its vibrant community spirit, and I'm proud of the way our city comes together to celebrate and support one another.
